Machine Artist Pre-requisite Exemption
To qualify for this exemption you must be a bona fide machine artist
and able to provide a portfolio of your work for appraisal by the exemption review
board.
It is recomended but not necessary that applicants hold a diploma
or a degree in art, science, engineering or robotics.
Exceptions will be allowed for machine artists of
noted ability and reputation.
The Machine Artist Pre-requisite Exemption consists of the following steps:
- On-Line Evaluation
Prospective applicants complete an on-line evaluation/questionaire.
A sucessful evaluation will permit the applicant to access a mail-in application.
- Mail-In Application
The applicant will submit the application for a degree in Applied Gizmology by way of a
Machine Artist pre-requisite exemption.
This application requires:
- Applicant information: name, address, etc.
- The minor specialization you are requesting
- A copy of the on-line evaluation
- Diplomas and/or Degrees held
- Awards granted in regards to machine art and inventing
- Institute affiliations, teaching positions held etc.
- Portfolio of your mechanical art: Photographs of inventions with a brief outline/description of each invention (photocopies permitted)
- Sign the statement of claim to the content of the portfolio
- Include the examination fee of $25 U.S.

- Examination Results/Degree Approval
The Exemption Review board verifies the credentials of the applicant and
considers the portfolio. If it is found that the applicant has shown an above average
measure of artistic and inventive ingenuity and/or has demonstrated leadership in the
advancment of mechanical art a degree in Applied Gizmology will be granted.
If approved the Exemption Review Board will grant a degree in Applied Gizmology. The level of the degree
granted will be at the Bachelors level. If the Review Board deems the applicants portfolio
and application to be substantial enough the degree will be elevated to the Masters level.
The applicant is then notified via e-mail or post mail and must submit the final fees
in-order to process the degree.
A final fee of $25.00 is required for the degree in addition a $7.00
shipping and handling charge.
Failed Applications
Applications that are not deemed to have met the requirements of the Inventor's Standards
Bureau will be notified by mail.
